🏨 Pre‑Night Hotel Recommendation

For Alaska sailings, we always recommend at least one pre‑night hotel stay to ensure a smooth, stress‑free start to your vacation.
Ash Travel is planning to block a set of rooms at a downtown Seattle hotel at a competitive group rate. This makes arrival easy, gives you time to explore the city, and helps avoid any travel‑day delays.

✈️ Air Options Through Celebrity

We can add Flights by Celebrity directly to your cruise reservation.

  • No payment is required for air until final payment for your cruise.
  • Celebrity’s air program offers flexible fares, competitive pricing, and flight protection.

If you prefer to book your own flights or want help comparing options, just let us know—we’ll work with you to make sure your arrival and departure times align perfectly with the cruise schedule.

🚐 Transfers & Final Details

We will update this webpage with hotel details, transfer options, and air information around the end of July 2026. Once those pieces are finalized, you’ll be able to choose the package that fits your travel style best.

Ready to Reserve Your Cabin?

Secure your spot on this unforgettable Alaska group cruise aboard Celebrity Edge.  There are two options:

Common Q & A

Q:  How much are gratuities (tips) and when do we pay them?

A:  Gratuities for this sailing are $133 per person ($19 per person/per day). Gratuities on suites are higher (ask for details). Gratuities can be added to your booking and paid in advance, or Celebrity will add them to your room key account when you are on board.

Q:  Do I have to have a passport to go on this cruise?

A:  No. As long as you return on the same cruise ship to the same U.S. port, you can use your driver’s license and birth certificate with a raised seal. The cruise industry recommends a passport in case your trip gets interrupted while at a non-U.S. destination, requiring you to get other transportation back to the U.S.   If your last name does not match on the two documents above, you need to bring additional documents, such as a marriage certificate, as proof of legal name. Children under 16 just need birth certificate and be traveling with parent.

Q:  Why purchase Cruise Protection? (Insurance)

A:  Your personal health insurance policy will likely not cover you on the cruise ship or in international ports. Along with cancellation coverage, cruise protection will cover the cost of emergency medical care on the ship or in the cruise ports. If an emergency interrupts your trip, it will cover the cost of getting back home other than on the ship. If we add Celebrity's policy to your booking, it will be paid with your final payment.

Q:  Does everyone in my cabin have to purchase a drink package if I want to?

A: Yes, on the Celebrity Edge (and all Celebrity ships), all guests of legal drinking age in the same stateroom are required to purchase the same alcohol-inclusive beverage package if one person does. This policy is designed to prevent drink sharing, though exceptions for non-alcoholic (Zero Proof) packages may be requested but you must contact Celebrity Cruises to arrange this, typically by proving a medical, religious, or pregnancy-related reason.

Q:  What is the dress code?

A:  The dress code on the Celebrity Edge is "smart casual" for most evenings—meaning stylish outfits like skirts, pants, or jeans with a dressy top—and "Evening Chic" for special nights, which allows for cocktail dresses, blazers, or elevated jeans. During the day, resort casual (shorts, swimwear with coverups) is appropriate, but no swimsuits or casual shorts are allowed in dining venues at dinner.

Q:  How much luggage can I bring?

A:  Two bags per person is the suggested limit. We have taken more than this with no complaints from anyone.

Q:  Can I bring drinks/alcohol on the ship?

A:  Yes, passengers on the Celebrity Edge can bring a limited amount of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks on board, strictly on embarkation day. Guests are allowed to bring up to two 750 mL bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom in their carry-on luggage. Beer, seltzers, and hard liquor are strictly prohibited. We hear stories of how some people get booze aboard, but we always point out that the fine print states that if you are caught trying to take items onboard that are forbidden, the cruise line can deny you passage on the cruise.

Q:  What if I require a special diet?

A:  We will state your requirements on your booking, and your waiter will be aware of this and take care of you.

Q:  Do I have to pay for food and drinks?

A:  Celebrity Edge includes a wide variety of free, high-quality dining options, including four main restaurants (Normandie, Tuscan, Cosmopolitan, Cyprus), the Oceanview Café, Mast Grill, and Eden Café. Basic drinks like water, tea, coffee, and some juices are free, but alcohol, soda, and specialty coffees cost extra unless you book an "All Included" package.  There are some specialty dining restaurants that feature a cover charge of approximately $55 per person for dinner. This fee covers the dining experience, but specialty beverages, wine, and certain menu items may cost extra. Prices are subject to change and reservations are strongly recommended.

Q:  Is there a cost for room service and what can I order?

A:  A flat $9.95 fee applies to room service orders, excluding complimentary continental breakfast items.  An 18% to 20% gratuity is additional and will automatically be added to your check. Room service offeres a wide range of hot/cold breakfast items and a 24-hour all-day menu featuring salads, sandwiches, pasta, pizza and desserts.

Q:  Is there a charge for shows?

A:  There is no charge for any entertainment on cruise ships. You will have much to choose from. While reservations aren't needed, arriving 30–40 minutes early ensures better seating choices.

Q:  How do I book a shore excursion?

A:  Closer to cruise date, you can book online with the cruise line. We can answer questions and help with excursions if needed.

Q:  What if i don’t have a roommate?

A:  We can book a cabin with a second name and change the second name with no problem until a week before the sail date. For the best rate, go ahead and book your cruise with you and 'Mr/Mrs Smith' traveling with you. Pay the deposit and work on a roommate for now. When your new roommate pays their deposit, we will apply the full amount you paid to your name on the booking. If you travel solo, you will pay double the base rate, only saving the taxes for the second person.

Q:  Can we add a 3rd/4th person to our cabin?

A:  Yes. When we book a cabin for 2, we may use a cabin that only holds 2 passengers and is less expensive than a category that is the same size, but has a pull down bed.  To add a 3rd/4th person, we may have to move you to a different cabin (that will hold up to 4) and the cost on the first two is a little more, but the cost on the 3rd/4th could be $100+ less. When we average this out, everyone in the cabin pays less. This may not be the case if you deposit on a cabin now, and want to add another person later. Remember – the rooms are small, but the bathroom gets very small when 4 adults need to shower and get ready for dinner at the same time.

Q:  What can I purchase on the ship and how do I pay for it?

A: When you do your online check-in, you will enter the credit card that will be used for all purchases on the ship. You will purchase items (gifts, drinks, excursions, etc.) using your room key. You can go to the service desk at anytime to see the details/balance of your onboard account. During the cruise you can have the cruise line apply a cash or credit card payment to your room account. Most commonly, guests will leave the ship without doing anything and the cruise line will apply the charges to your card after the cruise. On the last night of the cruise, each cabin will be given a printout of the charges to review. So, if you review this and see no problem, just allow Celebrity to charge your card on file and don’t worry about it.

As I get more questions from the group members, I will add them here, to supply the answers to everyone.
